The Mobile Wireless Internet Forum (MWIF) has research opportunities available in wireless for Master's and Ph.D. students, as well as seasoned researchers. RESEARCH PROJECTS DETAILS The research topics seek to develop suitable analysis metrics that can be applied to understand the cost and complexity of next generation IP based wireless networks. Challenging opportunities exist for seasoned academics as well as graduate students to perform research simulating, analyzing, and modeling the MWIF architecture to determine various attributes such as:
ABOUT MWIF MWIF is a worldwide consortium founded in January 2000. Some of its 60 founding members include: Operators such as Vodafone, Orange, Sprint PCS, Voicestream, NTT DoCoMo and KDDI; Vendors such as Cisco, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Lucent, Motorola, Telcordia Technologies and Siemens. The MWIF is helping to create next generation wireless networks based on IETF standards and is influencing wireless organizations such as 3GPP and 3GPP2. Towards that goal, MWIF has produced a number of architecture and technical documents. The MWIF architecture is an essential component, bringing together Internet and wireless into a useful framework so that the insights gained can drive further wireless networking innovation and evolution. Please browse mwif.org for additional details and to download public MWIF technical and architecture documents. Additional documentation is also available upon request.
