John G. Waclawsky, Chair

Currently Dr. Waclawsky is part of the Mobile Wireless Group at Cisco Systems. His responsibilities include identification of product requirements and definition of a mobile wireless applications strategy and architecture. He currently serves as the Mobile Wireless Internet Forum (MWIF) applications working group chair. Dr. Waclawsky also has an extensive telecommunications background and has broad skills and experience with most LAN and WAN architectures as well as project management and systems management disciplines. He has broad expertise with network performance analysis and problem determination and has published many in-depth articles dealing with these subjects. Dr. Waclawsky has developed several patented methodologies for performance analysis and network information collection. In addition, he has designed expert system based tools to facilitate WAN and LAN network performance evaluation and problem determination. He is also the inventor of the IBM Network Traffic Analysis service offering. Dr. Waclawsky has a Masters Degree and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. His areas of research interest include fault tolerance, protocol and performance analysis, network architecture and information collection concepts applied to voice, video and data networks. He has extensive consulting experience applying technology to help clients enable revenue, reduce cost or gain a competitive advantage.
