1. Develop a RAN and Core Network Interface Definition Supporting Operator/ISP Requirements as specified in MTR-002.
2. Develop Architecture Requirements Supporting the following air interface protocols: cdma2000, WCDMA, IEEE 802.11b
3. Maximize synergy between the OpenRAN and the RANs currently under development in 3GPP & 3GPP2.
4. Description of functional capability that provides wireless services across RAN-Core interfaces and the intra-RAN interfaces.
5. Description of the division of responsibilities of the functions provided between the RAN & Core and between different RANs.
6. Description of the functional architecture and the network architecture
7. Description of the radio network reference architecture.
8. Identify protocol stacks used to realize the RAN open interfaces
9. Develop protocols and protocol extensions only if necessary.
